Vienna: Embrace the Finer Things in Life

Last updated Mar 10, 2025

Book your next fabulous getaway to Wilde’s newest destination, Vienna. Effortlessly elegant and steeped in history, Vienna is a city that enchants visitors from the moment they arrive. A harmonious blend of old-world charm and modern sophistication, Austria’s capital offers something for everyone – from art and architecture enthusiasts to music lovers and history buffs. Our beautiful new aparthotel is nestled in the heart of Vienna’s old town, complete with charming narrow streets, Baroque architecture, famous opera houses, imperial palaces and traditional coffee houses.

A City of Stunning Architecture

Vienna’s streets boast awe-inspiring buildings at every turn. Imposing palaces, such as the opulent Schönbrunn Palace and the Hofburg Imperial Palace, tell stories of Austria’s imperial past. Strolling through these grand residences, you’ll get a sense of the power and wealth of the Habsburg dynasty that once ruled much of Europe.

The city’s Gothic churches are equally impressive. The iconic St. Stephen’s Cathedral, just an 8-minute walk from our aparthotel, features a striking tiled roof and towering spires, dominates the city’s skyline. For a more contemporary twist, the Hundertwasserhaus – an avant-garde apartment block designed by artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser – offers a splash of colour and creativity amidst Vienna’s classical elegance.

Classical Music in Vienna

Vienna has long been considered the capital of classical music, having been home to legendary composers like Mozart, Beethoven, and Strauss. To truly immerse yourself in this rich musical heritage, attend a performance at the Musikverein concert hall. Renowned for its unparalleled acoustics and breathtaking interior, this is where the world-famous Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra performs. Whether you’re a classical music connoisseur or simply curious, a night at the Musikverein is an unforgettable experience.

A Coffee Culture Like No Other

Vienna’s coffee houses are more than just places to grab a quick coffee – they are cultural institutions with a history dating back centuries. These exquisitely designed coffee shops were once hubs of creativity, debate, and intellectual discourse. Writers, artists, and philosophers would gather over a steaming cup of coffee, shaping ideas that influenced the world.

Today, visitors can experience this tradition by stepping into one of Vienna’s many historic coffee houses. Café Central, with its ornate ceilings and marble pillars, is a particular favourite, having hosted luminaries such as Sigmund Freud and Leon Trotsky. Pair your coffee with a slice of Sachertorte, Vienna’s iconic chocolate cake, for a quintessential Viennese treat.

Less than a 15 minute walk from our aparthotel, you’ll find the beautiful Meissl & Schadn restaurant.  The Wiener schnitzel is the popular choice here, and we recommend ordering it "mit allen Schikanen" (with all the trimmings)! They even offer weekly a weekly schnitzel course here, so you can learn how to prepare your own to impress your friends when you get back home.
