Wilde have made new friends… and we’re thrilled about it.
We were delighted to recently share our latest collaboration with Kevin and PJ from @imgrandmam, following their stay with us a little earlier this year at Wilde, Lisbon.
The Partnership
If you're not already familiar with the fabulous duo (where have you been?!), Kevin and PJ are the hosts of the hugely popular I'm Grand Mam podcast, where they explore life, friendship and growing up as two gay guys from Cork through warm, hilarious and refreshingly honest conversations.
As an Irish-born brand, warmth and hospitality have always been at the heart of what we do. Creating spaces that feel welcoming and easy to settle into is part of the Wilde experience, which is why this partnership felt like such a natural fit from the start. Over the years, Kevin and PJ have built a loyal community of listeners in Ireland and far beyond, so we couldn't wait to welcome them to one of our favourite cities, and one of Wilde's newest aparthotels.
Exploring the City
Naturally, no trip to Lisbon would be complete without a pastel de nata pilgrimage. The guys spent their first few hours wandering the city's winding streets (and many sets of steps) in pursuit of the perfect custard tart, eventually landing at the iconic Manteigaria bakery, where they sampled one of Lisbon's most-loved delicacies fresh from the oven. A very strong start to a Lisbon trip, by anyone's standards.
Settling In
Back at Wilde Lisbon, Kevin and PJ spent some time exploring the property itself, quickly becoming fans of the colourful interiors, bright mosaic tiles and greenery woven throughout the space. The outdoor terrace was another highlight, thanks in no small part to its tranquil water feature… although excitement quickly turned to disappointment when they discovered the fountain does not, in fact, accept contactless payments for wishes. A tough moment for everyone involved. (Trust us, it'll make a lot more sense once you've watched the video.)
Kevin and PJ also joined Wilde Lisbon’s Chef André for a hands-on Portuguese cooking lesson, taking on local favourites including pica pau and sardine toast. There was a lot of stirring and chopping. There were a lot of questions. There may have been some creative interpretation. Chef André remained impressively calm throughout, which we can only admire.
The trip wrapped up with sunset drinks and chats on their private terrace, followed by a game of This or That: Holiday Edition. Planned itinerary or go with the flow? Early flight or evening departure? You'll have to watch the video to see where they landed.

Kevin and PJ brought their trademark warmth, humour and energy to Lisbon from start to finish, and we loved giving them a taste of the Wilde experience.
