Yes. We are superbly located. Grassmarket lies in the centre of Edinburgh's historic old town, and is one of the city's liveliest and most picturesque areas. Better yet, our prime position at the foot of Edinburgh Castle — which is not just the most popular tourist attraction in Scotland, but one of the most iconic historic sites in Western Europe — affords incredible views of this breath-taking monument. We’re also located within walking distance of the likes of The Real Mary King’s Close, the National Museum of Scotland, the Scott Monument and the Scotch Whisky Experience. Furthermore, you’re in easy reach of the city’s best places to shop, eat, drink and dance, including the famous Royal Mile with its many pubs and restaurants, as well as Edinburgh’s chief business districts and transport links.

Park your car at the nearby NCP Castle Terrace car park. The King Stables Road entrance is less than 100m from reception. To access the carpark, you will need to download the NCP ParkPass App (only available for UK Mobiles), create an account and use the Saver ID code HT4E6Y. Non UK Mobiles, please visit parkpass.ncp.co.uk, use 07123 123456 as the UK Mobile reference when registering. Tokens for discounted parking can be collected from reception to validate before departure of the carpark.

 

Yes! We serve a delicious Wilde breakfast. Why not join us in the bar for a glass of wine or gin and tonic? Our bar is open until 1am daily and we serve our wonderful sourdough pizza flat breads from 12noon until 10pm.

There’s also a self-service pantry that’s open 24/7, selling drinks, snacks and groceries to cook in your apartment.

Yes. You can easily add breakfast when you book directly with us. It's £16 per adult, £9 per child (4 to 12), and under 4s are free with each full-paying adult.

Breakfast is served 7am to 10am weekdays, and 7am to 11am on weekends.

Good to know

Please note that for bookings made on or after October 1st 2025, with arrivals from July 24th 2026 onwards, a 5% Tourist Tax will be included in the displayed rates but will need to be paid at check-in.  This charge applies for stays of up to five consecutive nights. This new tax has been introduced by the City of Edinburgh Council to support local services and will be collected by accommodation providers on their behalf.

We want you to feel right at home with us, with the space and privacy to unwind. If you’re staying for a week or more, your apartment will be cleaned on the fourth day, and once a week thereafter. Your room has everything you need to keep your space spic and span, and of course additional cleans can be arranged for a small fee (£25 for studios, £35 for one-bedroom apartments, £45 for two-bedroom apartments). The team are also happy to provide extra towels and any essentials you need. If you’d like us to collect your rubbish, simply hang the rubbish collection hanger on your door.

We don't like to wag our fingers, so we'll get this over quickly. No smoking in rooms or communal areas, and no events or parties. Double denim is, however, very much encouraged. We also now offer pet friendly stays – check out our pet policy here.

Flexibility is the spice of life, which is why we offer fully flexible rates that allow you to cancel for free anytime until 3pm the day before. We also offer semi-flexible rates that mean you can cancel for free up to 3 days before your arrive, and still stay in our good books.

We have accessible rooms available with extra space for wheelchair users and features such as lowered bathroom facilities and pull cord for emergencies.
