If you really want to understand a city, don’t just tick off the sights – move through it. Preferably on foot. That’s exactly the idea behind "Run with the GM" at Wilde, Vienna: guests lace up their running shoes alongside our fantastic GM Sebastian and discover the city centre from a perspective no guidebook can offer.

No Set Programme, Just an Invitation

Run Club here is deliberately uncomplicated: there’s no fixed day of the week, no registration deadline and no participation fee. If you’d like to join, simply ask at reception – the run is available practically every day. It’s an effortless way to turn a hotel stay into an experience of the city, perfectly in keeping with the Wilde philosophy of giving our guests the freedom to live, work and explore on their own terms.

Guests Set the Pace

Whether it’s a relaxed jog with photo stops or a more ambitious run, Sebastian adapts the pace, distance and route to suit each guest’s level. Beginners are very welcome too – this isn’t about setting personal bests, it’s about experiencing the city. And for those who do want to clock up the kilometres, there’s plenty of opportunity to do that too.

From Fleischmarkt, the highlights of Vienna’s 1st district are all within running distance: down to the Danube Canal, past the Urania, through Stadtpark and along the Ringstrasse, passing the Opera, Hofburg and City Hall before returning to the hotel through the quiet streets of the Stubenviertel. Along the way, Sebastian shares his insider knowledge and favourite recommendations, from corners of the city worth discovering to where to go in the evening and what Viennese locals love about their city. Sightseeing that happens naturally as you run.

Finish Line: Oscar's

After the run comes the best part. At Oscar's a cold drink, coffee or matcha awaits, surrounded by rattan bistro chairs, vintage lighting and a bold mix of yellow, green and orange tones that offer a fresh interpretation of Vienna’s iconic coffeehouse culture. And if you feel like staying put a little longer, you can always settle in for breakfast.
