Young V&A
2024’s Art Fund Museum of the Year, The Young V&A is where children, young people and families can imagine, play and design. This fantastic museum has an ever-changing array of exhibitions, workshops and open studio events taking place throughout the year, such as a ‘Play in the City’ workshop over October half term and family acrobatics this November.
Just a short tube journey from our Liverpool Street aparthotel, the Young V&A is open 7 days a week, admission is free and there is no need to book ahead – talk about keeping it nice and simple!

Discover Children’s Story Centre
The UK’s first Story Centre for children up to 11 and their families, the Discover Children’s Story Centre’s mission is to support a love of language, literature and stories. A not-for-profit organisation, their Story World and Story Garden spaces are innovative and creative play spaces designed to inspire children’s curiosity and imagination. Helping to improve reading, writing, speaking and listening skills for children in fun and imaginative ways, the centre holds a variety of interactive exhibitions featuring lots of favourite authors and illustrators such as Judith Kerr and Michael Rosen. Voted one of Time Out’s top family days out in London, this place is a must for any budding bookworms or story lovers. Reachable by the tube in under 25 minutes from our aparthotel, tickets are normally £10 for children or adults, but you can see all ticket details and pricing here.

Spitalfields City Farm
Spitalfields City Farm began in 1978, and is located in one of the most densely populated parts of the Tower Hamlets area of London. With a long tradition in the East End of backyard farming, it wasn’t long before chickens, rabbits and geese appeared on the scene at this fantastic city farm! Today, the farm spans 1.3 acres of land, and is home to a multitude of adorable farm animals such as donkeys, pigs, sheep and goats.
The farm provides educational opportunities for children and adults alike, to empower people to gain new skills and confidence, and to combat social isolation. An ideal escape from the bustling city to reconnect with animals and nature, every member of the family will enjoy this special haven tucked away in central London. The best part is, it’s just a 15 minute walk from our Liverpool Street aparthotel.

Shoreditch Park
Every family getaway should include an epic park. Shoreditch Park has everything from a rock climbing boulder, to an outdoor gym ad ping pong tables! The adventure playground here is sure to be a hit with the little ones, with swings, a sandpit, climbing structures, slides and even a gigantic xylophone where budding instrumentalists can make their own music. For mums and dads, there are plenty of benches so you can sit and relax with a coffee as the little ones go wild. The park is a half an hour stroll away from our Liverpool Street aparthotel, or a ten minute bus ride for any tired little legs.
